When you make things yourself, you experience are more intimate, personal connection. During the elaboration process important questions pop up naturally: Will it work? Is it useful? How long will it take to build it? What materials should I use? How much will it cost? How will it impact the environment? Will I like it? Will you like it? Just for asking myself these, and three hundred more questions, it's worth a try.
On the other hand I usually design specific pieces for the Interior Design Projects I work at, seeking to reflect the same idea in all the elements that comprise them. Most designs turn into objects, but others remain on paper.
I’ve now decided to rescue them, build them in my workshop and sell them on my website.
sitRplay is the first object from the El Cau Project, a family space located in one of Barcelona’s downtown neighborhoods. It is a stool with an integrated game board and a drawer to store the game pieces.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed making it.
